My name is David Juby but most people know me as Jubes so much so once upon a time and all that jazz a friend turned to me and said "so Jubes, what's your last name?"
Time Line
1983 - Born in York - Lived in a village called Wilberfoss
1986 - My brother was born
1988 - Moved to Pogmoor, Barnsley - Attended Gawber Junior and Infants School
1990 - My sister was born and I was introduced to computers, a ZX Spectrum +2 and a Sega Mega Drive (Japanese Addition)
1993 - Got a i486 Windows 3.1 PC and started playing the Keyboard
1994 - Attended Kingstone School
1995 - Started Diving (over the next few years I completed at County Level under the Sheffield Team)
1998 - Moved to Chesterfield - Attended Parkside Community School (GCSE)
1999 - Started Meditating and Trampolining
2000 - Attended Brookfield Community School (A Levels) - I retook my AS Year due to poor grades and acquired a taste for the thespian life and house parties
2001 - Got my first job working for the Co-op in the Toy Department
2002 - Was asked by my then girlfriends Dad at the dinner table "Do I think the war on Iraq was justified" sending me down a rabbit hole
2003 - Attended Warwick University where a read Biochemistry and lived on campus, started competing in Trampolining and learned to play the guitar.
2004 - Moved to Leamington Spa
2006 - Graduated, moved back home
2007 - Got a job in IT Technical Support at Computer Science Corporation (CSC)
2009 - Started as a Remote Infrastructure Operation Engineer overseeing the support of large virtual server farms for government organizations, got introduced to Linux
2011 - Resigned from CSC because 12 hour day and night shifts were impacting my health and joined The Octium Group's Griffin Internet (ISP) as a Systems Engineer
2012 - Joined The Octium Group's R&D Arm Alurian as a Systems and Network Engineer. During this year the Octium Group was acquired by MDNX (then acquired by EasyNet and then GTT Communications) and I became a Hosting Engineer.
2013 - Resigned from MDNX, i'd split with my girlfriend at the time and saw an opportunity to travel. I spent 3 months exploring Croatia, Bosnia, Slovenia, Hungary, Austria, Slovakia, Czech Republic and finishing in Germany) and then joined CommonTime as a Technical Support Engineer.
I've stayed with CommonTime (now Alertive) since then, where i've been fortunate to lead Technical Support, DevOps and now I over see Infrastructure and Information Security.
2014 - Met Jen, became a Step Dad
2016 - We bought a house
2017 - Married Jen
